Our Story

Thirty Years in the Making

Swansea Gas & Oil didn't start with a big investment or a business plan. It started with three decades of hard work, a reputation built one job at a time, and a genuine commitment to the people of South Wales.
Anthony Bennett has been a time-served plumbing and heating engineer for over 30 years. Born and raised in Penclawdd, he now lives in Gorseinon with his family. Over the years, he has seen the heating industry change — national companies, call centres, subcontractors who don't know the area and don't care about the customer. Swansea Gas & Oil exists as the alternative to all of that.
We are Gas Safe Registered (220136) and OFTEC registered. We cover gas and oil. We offer installations, servicing, repairs, emergency call outs, landlord gas safety certificates, and BOILER CARE PLANS for a very small monthly payment. But more than any of that — we show up, we do the job right, and we are honest with you. Every time.

ANTHONY BENNETT

Anthony Bennett is the founder and director of Swansea Gas & Oil — and in most cases, he is the engineer who will come to your door.
Now 53, Anthony has spent his entire working life in the plumbing and heating trade. Originally from Penclawdd, he is now based in Gorseinon and has built his career and his business entirely within South Wales - the community he grew up in and the one he is committed to serving.
With over 30 years of hands-on Experience as a time-served plumbing and heating engineer, Anthony's approach to the job is simple: be straight with people, do the work properly, and never cut corners. He will tell you honestly if your boiler needs replacing or if it can be repaired. He will explain what he has found and what it means in plain English. And he will be there at the time he says he will be.
Outside of work, Anthony is a family man. He has two children — Ethan and Eve — and it is no coincidence that the business he has built is one he hopes will be there for his family long into the future.

KIAN CATER

HEATING ENGINEER

Heating Engineer | Gas Safe Registered | 6+ Years with Swansea Gas & Oil

Kian joined Swansea Gas & Oil as an apprentice over six years ago and has grown into an outstanding heating engineer — one Anthony is proud to have by his side.
Kian completed four years of plumbing and heating training before qualifying as a Gas Safe registered gas engineer two to three years ago. He has worked hard for every qualification he holds, and it shows in the quality of work he delivers on every job.
Kian lives in Manselton in Swansea, putting him right at the heart of the area we serve — meaning he can be with you quickly when you need him most.
Away from the tools, Kian is a keen footballer and a proud Swansea City supporter. He has recently signed up for the Swansea Half Marathon — so if you see him out training around the city, give him a wave.

CHARLY

OPERATIONS & ADMIN

Every great engineering business needs someone keeping things running behind the scenes — and for Swansea Gas & Oil, that person is Charly.
Charly joined the team just over a year ago as a virtual assistant and has made an immediate and lasting difference to the way the business operates. Before Charly came on board, Anthony will be the first to admit that missed appointments and unanswered enquiries were an occupational hazard of being a one-man operation out on the road all day.
Anthony and Charly speak almost every day, keeping on top of the diary, the admin, and the day-to-day running of the business. It is this kind of structure and organisation that allows Swansea Gas & Oil to deliver the reliable, professional service our customers expect — and to keep growing.
Charly is the reason plumbing and heating businesses do not have to stay as one-man bands with a bit of paper. And we are very glad to have her.

BUILT FOR THE FUTURE

Swansea Gas & Oil is a family business in every sense.

Anthony's son Ethan is 17 and already showing a keen interest in following his father into the trade. He is currently looking at beginning his own journey as a qualified plumbing and heating engineer and there is every chance that the next generation of Swansea Gas & Oil is already taking shape.

Anthony's daughter Eve is 16 and approaching her GCSEs, a big moment, with plenty of decisions ahead about which direction to take. Whatever she chooses, Anthony's message is clear: follow your dreams and do what makes you happy. The door to the family business will always be open.

Eve has a dog called Gem and two cats who keep the Bennett household lively. We are a family business in every sense of the word and we think that matters.
